Lovebox

This week I was lucky enough to be asked by the lovely people down at Shopcade to go and report for them at Lovebox Festival in Victoria Park.

My first dilemma- what to wear obviously! Festivals are one of my favorite occasions to dress for, a place where you know anything goes and the more glitter on that lovely face of yours THE BETTER!
Never one to complain about the sunshine, I embraced the amazing weather we had this weekend so much so that I even wacked my swimsuit out!

I opted for this lovely cut out piece from Motel with a matching red daisy print coord (I tied the shirt around my waist as it was just TOO hot to rock the look together). I teamed this up with some gorgeous Orelia gold bangles and hamsa hand necklace, layered a Mango gold necklace and Topshop choker over the top to create a stacked effect and added an Urban outfitters arm bangle and some super cool Divine Ink London metallic tattoos for those extra festi-vibezzz.

We headed up to Victoria Park where the crowds were in full force already embracing the music and sunshine at 12pm. There were so many gorgeous girlies looking amazing so street style snapping wasn't hard! Some big trends of the summer seemed to be epic amounts of face glitter, graphic prints and colourful co-ords (which are everywhere on the high street at the moment so you can be assured not everyone will be wearing the same one!) Some of my favourite brands for these are Motel, Topshop and Miss Pap where you can snap up a two piece for less than your festival ticket price- always a winner!

There was so much to see and do this year from a dance off stage to a gay bar, a chill out zone full of hammocks to photo booths filled with props. There were fair rides, make up stands, oyster bars- basically you name it Lovebox made sure it was there for ya. However by faaaar my favourite attraction of the weekend was the Sure 'human catapult', this is where all of the hilarious weekend antics took place. As part of their #DOMORE campaign this summer, Sure created what is essentially a backwards bungee jump. You had the opportunity to be sent hundreds of feet into to the air, to soar over the heads and dancing feet of the festival, this was NOT for the faint hearted. However, it wasn't a straightforward queue to get your ticket and shot in the air… ohhhh no no no. You had to compete in several tasks that took place every hour in order to win your ticket to the sky. These comps included beer goggle football, musical statues, secret talents, dance offs… we witnessed some brilliant entertainment hanging around the area!

Lets talk music, since that is what we were all there for right!? By faaaaar my favourite act of the weekend was hands down Chase & Status on Friday night- they killed it! There was no better feeling than thousands of people crowded together under a sky of laser shows, insane live music and the rain trickling down on our over-heated bodies as we all jumped unanimously to the drum and bass, a proper euphoric moment!! Other top slots went to Ben Pearce who rocked the bearded kitten manor, A$AP Rocky (who was a fan of getting several mosh pits going), Jess Glynne, even making a cheeky appearance on the Nandos stage so you could rave with ya chicken and M.I.A who despite the power cut put on an amazing glow stick show full of colour.

All in all (minus the minor sunstroke) it was a fab weekend and I would deffo go again next year!!
 Thanks Shopcade ya right babes!
